Austria has an area of 32,376 square miles, very close to the size of Maine or South Carolina. The country covers a part of the eastern Alps and the Danube Region and has a wide variety of landscape, vegetation and climate.

In-transit tourists, as well, have rediscovered Vienna's old-world charm, often making an unexpected extended stay.
