Historic, economic, artistic and cultural capital of France, Paris understandably remains the most visited city in the world, rich in museums, monuments and curiosities of all kinds, it is also a city where it is good just to stroll. A great venue, which has many new and exciting venues opening, Paris has always had that certain something and is now (May 2002) reasonable value too if you select the right venue.

It is also an area full of history: The many remains bear witness to the region's rich and ancient past. The Roman arenas in Arles and Frejus, the Glanum site in Saint-Remy-De-Provence and Vaison-La-Romaine, and also Marseille, all conserve extremely beautiful relics from ancient times. The Cistercian and Benedictine abbeys remind us that Provence was once a major religious centre.

Earthenware crafts from Moustiers, olive oil from the Baux-De-Provence and well known wines such as Chateauneuf-Du-Pape Côte du Rhône, Côte de Provence, the santons from Aubagne, and the lavender from the high country indicate long traditions. The art of good eating is one of the most important traditions in the region, and Provençal gastronomy has truly become a major attraction. Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cézanne, Pagnol, Giono all recognised the natural beauty of the region.

Riviera - Cote d'Azur

From the Mediterranean seaside to the very peaks of the Maritime Alps, the Riviera reveals its countless attractions in every season. Nice, with its old city and the Promenade des Anglais, Menton and its baroque architectural heritage and, the elegant resort towns of Cannes and St Tropez and close by Monte-Carlo provide wonderful opportunities for the perfect conference or incentive.

This important destination for conferences and incentives boast facilities of a very high standard. Flight time from London is just two hours with a transfer time to hotels of around 35 minutes. The short flight time means that Go and Easyjet offer cost-effective access.

All year long, continuous events make the Riviera a life-size stage, the biggest in the world. International festivals such as the International Cannes Film Festival, the Carnival of Nice, and traditional celebrations (Fete des Mais, Medieval Festival in Haut-de-Cagnes, Chestnut Festival in Isola) draw enthusiastic followers.

Aquitaine
