Barcelona &
Bilbao
We can organise and manage a corporate
event in Barcelona or Bilbao, Spain or anywhere in the world. Please contact
us for more information.
Bilbao
is a major port in The Basque country of Northern Spain, while in N E
Spain Barcelona is the major city in Catalonia.
Both are centres of culture in their
own right. Bilbao has its Guggenheim Museum and Barcelona has Gaudi's
Sagrada Familia and The Picasso Museum.
Barcelona is a traditional conference
destination with a great deal of sophistication and at last an adequate
supply of 4 and 5* venues. Bilbao on the other hand represents a new
opportunity for events.
Even after eight years, Barcelona is
still riding the Olympic wave and remains busy all year round. An
exciting image, good flight connections, a professional approach and an
amenable climate add to a first class package.
The 4 X 4 Challenge. A
specially prepared course over rough woodland terrain provides the
opportunity to learn the correct techniques for effective and safe off
road driving. After receiving instruction on how to navigate with a map,
compass and road book, participants receive their mission briefing. Just
like the Paris-Dakar Rally, teams leave in periods of two minutes after
each other racing against the clock and orienteering their course to
conquer the trophy.
Along the forest tracks in the National
Parc of Garraf is a route of approximately 50 km. Starting from the
outskirts of Castelldefels the teams have to find their way to the
finish entering the village of Sitges.
As an extra aspect to the teamwork
there are a number of challenges along the route. Facilitators will stop
the vehicles and explain them how to carry out each challenge and how
the scoring will work.

Madrid
Chosen
by Philip II to be Spain's capital city, an event that sparked a
continuous programme of building that has include magnificent palaces,
plazas, gardens, monasteries and churches.
Madrid's nightlife is legendary - it
doesn't really get going until 10pm and then sizzles through the early
hours. Mixed with this modern bustling city are some of the finest art
galleries and museums in the world including the legendary Prado with
its collections by Velazquez, El Greco, and Goya. The Guernica Museum
holds some of Picasso's greatest works. With abundant designer shopping,
street fairs and markets and a great variety of cuisine there is
something in Madrid to suit every taste.
The recent addition of a third runway
and terminal building at the airport mean there is usually plenty of air
seat capacity. Good quality hotels are plentiful also including The
Ritz, Westin Palace, Occidental and The Wellington.
Andalucia - Marbella
Puerto
Banus is famous for its harbour filled with spectacular private yachts
and luxury cars, as well as fashionable boutiques, restaurants and night
clubs. This port owes its name to its promoter, Mr. Jos bans.
Situated just 6Km from the urban centre of Marbella, it is one of the
most famous ports of the Spanish coasts and is visited by more than four
million people per year.
There are very few places in the world
with a greater concentration of restaurants -of all categories- with as
many specialities as there are here, with everything from oriental food
to international cuisine and, of course, the exotic tastes and wonderful
flavours of southern Spain. Try Puerto Banus and the seaside promenade
of Marbella centre, which start from the Hotel El Fuerte.
When the sun goes down on the Costa a
whole New World wakes up. This is the "Movida", the exciting
Costa del Sol nightlife with so many different ways of enjoying yourself
that nobody could possibly get bored. Dance the night away, draw close
to the real essence of the Andalusian character of a Flamenco show, here
on the Costa, everything is possible. Try the bars in Puerto Banus, from
Salsa to Piano to Irish; there are night-clubs such 'Oh! Marbella' and
'Scream', or for the ultimate try 'Olivia Valere' (strict door policy,
no jeans or trainers).
If golf is important to you or your
group, the coastal plain has a great concentration of excellent courses.
As a conference and incentive destination Andalucia and in particular
Marbella is becoming more and more sophisticated. Using a high quality
hotel as your conference base you can take your group on a 4 x 4 safari
into the mountains, paraglide, abseil, climb or just enjoy the stunning
scenery. On the coast all water sports are available to groups including
scuba diving, skiing, parascending and jet skis.
Seville
According
to legend, Hercules founded Sevilla and its origins are linked with the
Tartessian civilisation. It was called Hispalis under the Romans and
Isbiliya with the Moors. Its high point in its history was following the
discovery of America. Sevilla lies on the banks of the Guadalquivir and
is the administrative capital of Andaluca. It is also one of the
largest historical centres in Europe, it has the Mohammed Minaret of La
Giralda, the cathedral (one of the largest in Christendom), and the
Alczar Palace. Part of its treasure include Casa de Pilatos, the Town
Hall, Archive of the Indies (where the historical records of the
American continent are kept), the Fine Arts Museum (the second picture
gallery in Spain), plus convents, parish churches and palaces.
For all its important monuments and
fascinating history, Seville is universally famous for being a joyous
town. While the Sevillians are known for their wit and sparkle, the city
itself is striking for its vitality. It is the largest town in Southern
Spain, the city of Carmen, Don Juan and Figaro.
The Sevillians are great actors and put
on an extraordinary performance at their annual Fera de Abril, a
week-long party of drink, food and dance which takes place day and night
in more than a thousand especially mounted tents. But above all it
allows the men to parade on their fine horses and the women to dance in
brilliantly coloured gypsy dresses.
In Seville, you will want to visit the
old city, with the Cathedral and the Giralda tower at its heart. You can
climb the steps inside the tower for a magnificent view of the City.
Very close by are the royal Mudjar palace known as the Alcazar with
marvellous gardens and the Santa Cruz quarter, with cramped streets,
flowered balconies, richly decorated facades, hidden patios. The old
city, where Mudejar, Gothic and Renaissance styles blend harmoniously
amidst exuberant patios and gardens must be seen. Crossing the Triana
bridge over the large Guadalquvir river, the lively popular quarter of
Triana with charming narrow streets around the church of Santa Ana are
delightful as are the traditional ceramics factories.
Seville is fast becoming one of the
premier conference venues in Spain, a process enhance by the increasing
availability of direct UK flights. This city gives you a genuine and
unspoilt feel for Spain and represents a charming alternative to
Barcelona, Madrid or the Costas.
